Another vintage sidecar round

Postby Michael Vinten » Wed Jul 09, 2014 7:43 pm

Chris and I have discussed if the vintage sidecars would be interested in racing at SMP for the last RACE round on September 27/28. This event is also the last round for the modern sidecars. Chris told me that the modern and vintage sidecars would have separate practices and races.

Sue and I raced at the Festival of Sidecars at Loudon June 20-22 and had a great time with both vintage and modern sidecars. It would be nice to replicate this in Canada and it is a great way for both sidecar groups to get together and enjoy our sport.

Comments are welcome and I would like to discuss this as a group at Grand Bend - perhaps after Sunday's riders meeting.

Sounds interesting Mike. Look forward to hearing from others.

yes Mike

That sounds great, Loudon was a great time and it shows that modern & vintage can have a great weekend together. You guys coming to Shannonville with the SRA could lead to bigger & better things, like modern sidecars racing at Mosport with the Vintage guys :D :D :D :D

I kinda like the vintage guys.
But modern rocks. :D
Remember 29 sidecars at Mosport?
Most for me.
All my bikes are vintage.
But not when I bought them?

How about a BBQ for all the sidecar teams and CRCA personel? We've done one the last couple of seasons and its been a nice time.

im just waiting for slowpoke here to click in the fricking box. (i'm sitting on his knee typing)

not that box you moron, this one on the computer

right, now we have some kind of co-ordination, and knowing which box is which box , ..........................

we've always had a pot luck on our last round at Shanny. It doesn't matter what the weather is doing coz if it's raining we use the shelter area near the cafe, and the marshalls always seem to enjoy it. We have a great time.

I do hope we can get this thing going and have the vintage rigs race with us at Shannonville and then have a pot luck dinner and make for a great weekend and a great way to end the season!!!

Steve & the "box" (which box??)

There is great support for another vintage sidecar round. I will be speaking to Chris in the next week or at the Aug 9/10 RACE/SRA round. There will be a repeat of the year end barbeque provided by RACE that we attended at the final round last year so a sidecar pot luck may not be practical as the shelter will be in use.
