Cost is $7 per "Transponder", its actually just a sticker with an RFID tag that goes on the bike, helmet, wherever. Alex claims its every bit as accurate as the $500 AMB transponders.
There would be a small investment required by the club of $3-4k for the antennas but they would be owned by the club and be moved from track to track, unless the tracks bought into it and got their own antennas.
They also have a proper Web Services End Point to extract the data.
$7 one time is a heck of a lot better that $500 + additional subscriptions, and if it works for British Superbike Racing it should work for us.
Just saying...
You wouldn't even care if it got damaged as the actual device is cheaper than just the AMB clip
