Our ST data set is built on the 2014 membership tables. So if the member has never tried to make themselves an online registration portal they can do so using our ST link:
https://seriestracker.com/or/r_login.asp?PID=16 Click where it says “click here to sign up and go through the initial signup sequence using the birthdate when prompted of: 04/01/2014
More often after 4 years people forget either their username or their password, and instead of clicking either of the recovery function links they try to push through an incorrect version of either. What happens then is ST creates a new portal for you using the invalid login info in order to protect the users personal data. The user (or potential hacker) doesn’t realize it, and simply re-types their user info thinking they’re getting through the steps. They are getting through the steps, but what they’re actually doing is creating a second version of themselves which is how they suddenly have a “new” 6-digit membership number instead of their original.
Because this action is a security issue there’s no “fix” to it from the consumers perspective. We have to adjust it in the actual data set deleting the duplicate “you” and hooking your new username and login to the “old you.” This isn’t actually an issue for anyone except the member who would like to keep their original membership number, so if that’s you drop myself or Kirby an email and we can fix it up.
And just again, as a reminder, November 4 at 12:00am is the very first moment you can renew your membership for 2019. Membership prices are voted on at the AGM and effective immediately there after, but to make it clean we start 2019 the next day.
It’s a good reason to stay up late!
