Both should be wm1-18/36
The front is currently a wm2 borrani I think it's laced to
a cb450 hub...

I think that the honda 450 was a 40 spoke.The smaller hondas were 36.

I got the F7 in Arnprior. It had a bent swingarm , cracked frame and the rotor magnets were rubbing on the stator coils.
After buying 4 of these little gems, I had the parts to fix it today.

Many thanks to our own Stan Nicholson who went and bought the bike for me, and stored it until I picked it up yesterday!!!

My own build is progressing, the alumabronze swingarm bushings were made today , both hubs now have "green lining" and the piston has finally arrived...

Hey Rick,
Ya, Stan is pretty much the bomb when it comes to helping out fellow VRRA members - not many cut from the same cloth as our Stan and that's a fact. What our club is all about.
Did a little bit of work on your main competition today (my ersatz CB92), modifying the fairing to look more 1963-ish and took the cylinder head up to the guy who is going to redo the valves, etc when he gets a chance. Found some more 1-piece valves if I can afford them and if we can make them fit. Was explaining to the machinist's son that the CB92 in race trim was pulling close to 14 grand in 1959 when a 250 BSA was getting valve float around 5,600 rpm. But then again, with a stroke of around 1.6 inches compared to the BSA's which was probably 3 times longer, small wonder - the Honda starts to make power about the time the BSA spits it's guts out LOL.
What tires are you looking at running? I've got WM1X18's front and back and was thinking 90/90's in race compound?
And why aren't all those 160 Ducatis up for sale on the site being snapped up to build P1-200 bikes?

Pat, John Crossley got me a set of Hideneau tires. I talked to many racers in Barber about them and got good feedback from everyone.

why not race a 160 Ducati in P1--200 :?:
the CB 160 puts out around 16.5hp :o
the Kawi F7 , around 21hp :shock:
and the little duke, a whopping 8 HP!!!! :(
thats why no one races them , by the way, I sold both mine yesterday to a young kid who can't wait to get one on the road.

Holy Crap Allan, didn't realize the Baby Duke had so little power! Rode one really briefly back in the '60's and it seemed to be able to keep up with traffic and whatnot but wasn't particularly fast.
But then again, we're talking stock...
Your comment on the various HP of the bikes is well taken. Given a full tilt engine program on the F7 and spending some time and money to make it into a true race bike you could probably get 25 "real" - not advertising - horsepower out of the Kaw 175 single (think one third of an H1R motor here, never mind the rotary valve).
I was mystified when I read the rulebook and found a mid-70's bike was allowed to race against old crocks but the reason why I was looking for one myself for about 2 months.
Doesn't really matter anyway, at least to me, as I've found the CA95 / CB92 project. Fortunately, as I've dug into it, except for the seized piston, the engine internals look better than I hoped. The bike needs a huge weight reduction program (me too) but the idea is to make it look like a 1963 race bike and I'm on track with that.
I'll probably have enough issues coping with the (few) horsepower I'll have at my disposal to worry about Rick (and everybody else) passing me all the time, but I want to finish the race, so reliability first.
Rick, thanks for the lead on the tires, I'll check out the prices and work them into my budget somehow.

The Kawasaki actually makes 18.The Bultaco 200 makes 23.The B25 makes 25.
The Yam ycs1 makes 21.
No dought Kawasaki made it's rep on fast bikes usually with more power than any other bike in it's class but I don't see them winning all the races.Handling, reliability & rider ability prove time & again to beat the fast bike to the winners circle.Great to see some renewed intrest & compitition in the early classes.I have a couple I am working on too.Keep building those bikes & good luck to all.

I have the original Kawasaki shop manual for all the Disc Valve bikes. It lists the F7 at 21hp. The newer KE175's are at 16hp. Same capacity but the bore and strokes aren't the same

Hey Rick,I got the info off the 71 Kawasaki page,I know what the manual says.

The F7 175 cc, same bike as the 125 except the 175 got the Hatta front forks like its bigger brothers and a bigger 19 inch front wheel. And the front fender got a nice black flapper. Power was 18 hp at 7500 rpm. (The picture at left says 21.5 hp.....) it was in the Kawasaki advertising.

At any rate,I'm sure it will have 25hp or so by the time you get done with it. :lol:

OMIGOD ANOTHER F7!
Soon we'll have to rename P1-200 the mid-seventies enduro bike class 'cause that's what everyone will be running.
A good point about the condition of your bike though - if it's half as good in real life as the photo, why not keep it as-is and find a skanky one to convert to race trim? The stocker could be your pit bike...

I have a question, the BSA B25 is ok for this class for all years (up to year 1970)? Is this correct?

Aslo for rims, VRRA lists VM4 (2.50) and AHRMA lists VM3, how wide is VM3? And are you guys making your P1-200 AHRMA legal?
