To pump or not to pump...

Postby Hawkster » Sat Jul 30, 2022 6:21 am

Hello everyone,

Wanted to ask all Yamaha 2 stroke racers...
I recently purchased an 1986 RZ350 that had some motor work done:
- +4 Crank
- 19cc Cool heads
- Slightly ported cylinders
- 34mm Mukini slides
- Jim Lomas GP style pipes
- etc...

My question, can I and/or should I keep the oil pump system on the bike?
The bike will be for the street and I would love the convinience of the seperate oil reserve for drivability and not having to mix if out on the road and refuelling is required....

Please let me know, this will be my 1st 2 stroke street bike...

Thanks in advance for any advise from seasoned 2 stroke veterans....

There is a gentleman in the UK that will rebuild/re-calibrate the pump based on how you want to use it. Let me know if you are still looking and I will try to find his contact info.
