stupid tech inspection question

Postby racerchris46 » Sun May 19, 2024 5:53 pm

Hi Mike

I have an endurance bike this season and new tires are going on at the track Friday morning. To tech the bike on Thursday evening, do I need to present a bike fully wired as if it was going on track? Then wheel it back to my pit and cut all the wire off to remove the wheels?

It's no problem for me to do that if so.

Thanks, Chris Marshall

The reality is lots of tires get changed and other work done on bikes after tech. The onus is on the rider to ensure that the bike is properly prepared for the track after the work. In your case we know you are changing tires before going on the track. We will note it on your tech sheet that you will lockwire it after the change. If you want a second look after the work, drop by tech before going out.
