From the Rule Book:


"Each team must have a working fire extinguisher of minimum capacity of 5lbs., which must be
manned and pointed at machine during all fueling stops. Failure to do so will result in loss of laps."

We had a lot of fire extinguishers last round that did not meet this rule.
You also want to be sure it is of the proper type we are dealing with fuel so a Class B is the minimum, many general purpose extinguishers are class A, B and C.

At round 2- please have your fire extinguishers displayed proudly in your pit stop area during the lunch set up period so the marshals can inspect them prior to the race. Also have your team number display so that we may check off this vital bit of safety equipment.

This will be something done at each round from now on. Failure to have the proper safety gear will lead to penalties.

Bringing this back to the top. After discussions with the competition coordinator we have decided that teams that do not have an adequate fire extinguisher will not be allowed to start. It is a safety requirement and a serious one. There will be no negotiations on this. So ensure you have the proper type and size please! Thank you!
