Postby McCallum RACING » Mon Aug 24, 2015 4:43 pm

Can someone explain to me why we do not score the endurance races with transponder's .. ??. It would sure make life easier, would it not ... ??

There's a few issues, but the main one is that our timng and scoring family are volunteers, same as me. They have lives, and schedules to maintain same as you and I. They've made the commitment to be able to make all our race dates, but can't make all the Fridays. He moment a second person volunteers to take on the responsibility of arriving Thursday night for setup and testing, we could drop the manual scoring. Until that happens, Endurance racing is a team sport. Infield scoring not only encourages the spirit of teamwork which endurance racing is built on, it also ensures the series has a basis for scoring.

Did this ever get resolved?

As a possible new team, I'm interested to see what as a team we will have to do for next years races from start to finish.

Justin, start by reading the endurance section of the rule book.

You will need a person(s) to do the manual scoring and a method of refueling and a fire extinguisher.

Start with the rules and go from there.

I cant make head nor tale of those endurance results, sorry. I wonder what the whoo ha would be if P4 was never properly recognised with no trophys or proper results. VRRA endurance has been running for at least 15 yrs ,WTF

2 seasons ago we had such a poorly attended Endurance series that unless it drastically changed it would have been canned. Dewey , Ashton and a bunch of other volunteers stepped up and we had a really successful Endurance season. The end fell a bit flat with a poor attendance at Ste Eustache when people realised it wasn't for points (kudos to the 4 teams that did it anyway).
Last season was a huge improvement any way you look at it.
We have noted the pitfalls and concerns and will , of course, strive to make more improvements for the coming season.
Trophies, handicaps , results et al. are all being looked over and we will make changes within our capabilities and as best as possible.
We will strive to keep improving.

Miles.

Thanks for stepping up Miles
Its just that the exec has never taken the series seriously like they do all the other classes. But there are alot of teams that take endurance racing very seriuosly, its not just extra practice. I hope that it finally gets the recognition it deserves.
