Hey Collin did you get the 185 from a older gent outside of Havelock?I looked at one that was on Kijji and was tempted but figured I have enough projects to keep me busy for a while. Just curious Let me know Wilf.

Hi Wilf now I know who relicracer is! I answered that ad and he replied but no deal has been struck so far. The problem being the head is not T350 it is either GT250 or GT380 or 550. I'm not sure if the 380 or 550 would fit on a T350 so my thoughts are its a GT250 ? so I asked him to let me know what piston diameter it is and he hasn't got back to me.
Thanks for the heads up though.
Get yourself a P1 smoker and join us!

Pretty sure the 250 and 380 heads ,pistons and cyl are the same.
Also I believe the 350 and 550 heads, pistons and cyl are the same.

Some of this I know and some I have read but unconfirmed.
The T250 has the same bottom end as the T350 and the cylinders and pistons from early T350 will fit the difference being bore & strokes of 54 x 54 on the 250's and 60 or 61 x 54 on the 350's.
The later T350 cylinders will not fit.
Not sure but the early GT 250's were the same as the T250's.
The later GT250's the cylinders will not fit.
The GT380 shares the same bore and stroke as the 250's but unsure of interchangeability.

The GT550 has the same bore as the T350 at 61mm but the stroke is 62mm so its a no go there.
Also Suzy changed position of ports and the ring locating pin on all these models and some interfere with each other.
Still learning about these wonderful Suzy twins though and my 250 should be quicker again next season.

She lives again! After buying three T350's I have managed to get a set of usable cylinders. A rebore and new pistons along with new crank seals will sort my engine problems. A good buddy of mine will donate (cough cough) a set of 34mm mics and if I whine enough maybe paco will sell me a slightly bruised and dented fairing at a good price! A quick blue and silver paint job and she will be race ready the only problem is it will look identical to my 250 mmmmmmm that's a thought maybe I can! forget I said that!
I have a set of chambers made by Mad Max and my 250 will need new tires this year so I'm a stinkin that I can throw my slightly worn tires on the 350 will have it ready for Mossy so I can chase that Ali guy around the track!
I will do an update as we progress.

Hi Terry,
Glad to hear of the progress. The T350's were never very common around my area and I can see why you might have a few problems getting spares.
As far as a fairing, I wish I had something "pre-owned" to offer you but I don't. I recollect you bought a TR2 fairing from me and it would be ideal to use the same fairing - just like the Yam TD2 and TR2 did - for great spares commonality.
About the only incentive I could offer you is: if you bought a new fairing and screen together, I can do a reduction in the screen price, as I have a couple of larger half bubbles which I am recutting to suit the fairings I'm selling. If you bought a fairing and screen together, I could offer the screen for $135.00 but I'd need your existing TR2 screen to use as a pattern. The offer is only open to those who buy the 'screen with a fairing and saves you about 60 to 70 bucks over a Gustafsson screen 'cause of the horrid exchange.
If you felt like dumping off one of your derelict cylinders and pistons sometime, I'd love to have a poke around inside them and check a few measurements.
Let me know about a fairing; right now, about 3 weeks lead time for pick up, after payment is received.
Pat

Hey Terry,
Maybe you can get Brad to sell you the TR2 fairing that's on his outstanding TD1 rebuild and buy a new TD1 fairing from me LOL.

Well I hope to sort something out, I would really like a fairing on her but priority is shocks, rubber, bars, ignition then the fairing. I have some time as I have just split the cases and the cylinders are out for new holes.

Good news the one set of cylinders are tight! so new rings and a hone will do the trick, I have a T350 tank that is mint inside just a few dents and a tough looking but usable seat. Looking for some alloy rims although it's not a priority at the moment. The frame has been braced, sanded and painted so the project is GO!

This being my second ride it is on more of a budget than my 250!! so I'm trying to save $ and still make it a safe reliable quick cycle. I am using a stock tach and I have mounted a kill switch on my temporary front end.

Chambers for these smokers can be expensive and confusing, old specs do not jive with new chamber programs and not two programs produce the same chamber? so I plan to make three sets of chambers and the one the works the best I will have made by professionals or at least guys with the right equipment.
