Looking good, Brian!

How does that damper bracket fasten at the gas tank bolt? I had trouble with Linc's there...the bracket would just swivel when I stiffened up the damper. I wound up drilling and tapping a small hole on each side of the bolt on the frame bracket, drill the damper bracket to match, and install 2 small & short flat head machine screws. I tried a rivet, but it didn't last. All of this is behind the part of the tank where it's bolted to the frame. Linc would have to get you a photo of that if my description is not clear enough.

Keep up the good work!

No Tim, your description is very clear to someone who has already seen the effects of stiffenning the damper and seeing the bracket move!!!   I made the bracket longer on the top and have bent it and was looking at different was to secure. I like the small hole idea, but I'm looking at attaching rather than drilling. I'll see where it all leads, but I like the placement so far. Copied direct from the photos I took of your (Linc's) bike at the QC GP. So far, so good! It's so nice to have motorcycle related projects during the winter. Helps with the PMS...( Parked Motorcycle Syndrome ). Cheers, Brian. :D

I know what you mean. I have 2 street bikes and 2 race bikes to do this winter, plus a couple P1-350 engines to get into soon. One of the street bikes, an RZ350, was bought in boxes in 1999. I hope to ride it for the first time this spring. :D

Got my seat back from the shoemaker today....Looks nice. Playing with using the original TT number plates. Sent an email to Tech, so we'll see if they OK it. Would be cool if they let me cause then the rear could stay a little cleaner and my high pipe would not interfere.

My legs don't seem to interfere for timing and scoring...

Well, my first attempt at a belly pan...Turned out OK. Free or in the Garbage racing lives on!!! Friend gave me a sheet of alloy and I mocked something up out of cardboard and then made it from the alloy...I like it1!!

Had a hell of a time with the fly wheel with the cases that I got from a friend with the Carrillo rod!!! Threads were stripped so had to get creative. Nothing worked, so in the end it was heat and a whack!!! Off she came...Cheers.

With so much mock upwork getting done on the frame, it's time to get dirty with these motors...

Scored a self generating ignition with the balanced crank and Carrillo rod....And I'll be mounting the pan this week with some sort of quick release system for Tech....

Brian

The belly pan turned out very nice. Q - are you running stock flywheel weight or making it lighter?

Your going to need a farmers licence soon if you get anymore donor bikes / motors.
