After a year of neglect, it looks like the Metralla will be on the track this year. I'll post a few pictures as it moves forwards, and hopefully they'll both be interesting and act as a goad to me to keep the nose to the grindstone.

Here's a shot of the original Metralla Mk2. It's a 67 by the serial number and is complete if cosmetically challenged. Step one, over a year ago now was to remove most of the tinware and stash it away for a likely return to original down the road.

Skipping forward to the present, there have been a few changes. Clipons, exhaust, carb adapter spigot, and rearset pegs with gear and brake linkages have all been made up. The front has been shimmed up a bit, and the fairing mounting brackets are in progress. I thought I'd be using a Honda tank for it but thanks to Don Wrag, I now have an original tank suitable for the track (ie, it's already got dents and bruises). Pat had made me a lengthened Manx style seat to suit the short Honda tank so it'll be getting trimmed substantially.

More to follow in the (hopefully) near future.

Very nice Brock, keep us up-to-date on its progress! There will be more 250's than 500's in P1 if this keeps up!

Looks great Brock! It's been so long since I've seen an original, I kinda forgot what it looked like. Three of these together on the grid should make a great photo op for Shannonville!
