RGV Project.

I bought this bike off a friend from the VRRA last summer that he had raced it for two previous seasons. My intentions at the time were to fix it up and for my girlfriend to ride on the street. She had been bugging me that she wanted to learn how to ride and I was all for it. I had always wanted an RGV but they are pretty hard to come by. As much as it's not the best beginner bike I always wanted one and I had to have it. So I started converting the bike back to street and fixing it up for her to ride. And to make a long story really short. The Girlfriend is now gone, the bike is mine, and its going to be raced next year. Here's some pics of the overhaul.

The bike just needed a clean up, the label had to come off, couldn't understand it anyways.

My dad didn't really fancy me turning his garage into a paint booth.

The body work moved around to much when it was hanging, had to make up some tables.

Painted the rims and polished the forks up. The forks were pitted a fair bit.

Once I polished the forks I polished the top yoke as well. It's not a lot of fun and it takes a lot of time, but it looks great.

Sent in some ideas for graphics. Wanted the bike to look like the Kevin Schwantz Pepsi Edition. The previous owner also wanted to do the same with the bike if he ever had the chance. It seemed like the way to go.

Almost ready to race, A few things to do over the winter yet. The bike has been derestricted and needs new tires. I have a set of VJ22 rims that are wider and will be fitted with Michelin Power Ones. I need to remove the headlight and spedo and any extra cables and wires that are not required.

RGV - Really Great Vehicle! Nice work, well documented and a great result!

When in doubt, give it gas. It may not help the situation, but it will end the suspense!
