CB1100 for Mosport?

Postby jim kots » Tue Jun 07, 2011 6:37 pm

Time to start the job has finally become reasonable regarding time commitment.

Pictures work so I will post as I build. This is where I am today.

There are a lot of pretty bikes being built, I am not sure I deserve one. This is where I am going.

First step is to get a roller. First problem is the steering stem, it is too short.

This is what I have. No threads for the lock nut. Do you really need one?

This is the top triple installed on the same steering stem. Brava time, due to budget cuts this would normally be "Miller Time".

Very nice! I'm a big fan of the 'F' series. Riding/racing a 'R' must be awesome! May i ask what is the origin of your swingarm? Custom built or...?

Thanks, it is only close to an "R", the base frame is a 900.

The swingarm in the pic is an older style Metmachex. It is a little shorter than the others, 19-1/2", trying to get the wheel base down to between 56-57".

Picked up the repaired steering stem and should be starting back to the build.

Looks like a fun project Jim I hope we see it out in 2012! Is that not the same bike that Scott built? You guys could start a CB1000 team! :D

"Team Deep Pockets"

I will definately be making the time to race next season.

Scott's isn't based on a stock frame platform. It is a one off Chromoly frame based on the Honda RSC endurance racers similar to this. Very trick.
