Testing the waters here.
I have a 1978 CB550 I picked up a while back to build into another vintage race bike or cafe-race streetbike that I'm thinking of letting go.
The vast majority of the parts needed to put it back together and get on the street are there. (missing stock seat, frame slightly modded from the previous owner for a cafe tail)
Engine top end is apart, but pretty well everything is there. Previous owner had bought new rings and gasket kit to rebuild the engine, but I didn't plan to go that route.
I have one complete CB650 engine with some spares as well as another CB650 engine I bought for the head that will go with it as a package.
Plan was to put CB650 pistons and milled CB650 head with CB650 Cam. This would be a nice race setup, for very little investment.

Plan to pull it out and take some pics this week, but figured I would test the waters and see if there is interest.

I'm interested in the mods you were going to do to the CB550 by using CB650 pistons and Milled head. Do you have any details on this mod that you would care to share.
