I can't believe nobody has grabbed this yet!!! This bike has all the goodies on it. It's got:

A Bitubo mono-shock
reinforced swingarm where the shock attaches to it
practically brand new tires
the motor is from an '84 GPz with the hotter cam and TK27 carbs and rebuilt by Rick Yates
brand new dashboard and bikini fairing
custom made wiring harness

Are mono shocks allowed in Ahrma or just dual shocks?

Here is a link to the AHRMA rule book.

Single shock bikes are allowed.

You will need to search the rules for your particular bike to see where it belong with in the rules.

Need to have a look but AHRMA took exception to the GPZ550 and set restricted limits on that bike.

Hope this helps.

From 20118 AHRMA Rule Book:

10.8.2 REQUIREMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS FOR VINTAGE SUPERBIKE
a) GENERAL
1) Model year cutoff is 1982, or like design (see definition in Section 2). Exception: The model-year cutoff for Kawasaki GPz550 is 1981.

Jim is correct. A few years ago AHRMA decided that the mono-shock GPz had an unfair advantage and specifically banned that particular model. However, the bike is still VRRA eligible in P3-Lightweight.
