Hi

Something I never took into consideration
was what it would cost to run a bike for
a season in the vrra
Say the bike runs well with no issues.. What
Factors must be used to calculate sport
Expenses for one season?

Thsnks

Terry

It depends on the bike as powerful (large) bikes also go through more tires while on a 30HP bike, a set of tires should last 2 or 3 seasons.

A 110HP P4 heavy will go through tires every two weekends or so.

But you major expanse is registration (about $300 per weekend) and getting to the track and back (fuel for your truck).

Entry fees. ~$300/ race weekend
Tires. ~400-500/ set
Fuel. (Depends on what you buy). Race fuel is about $100/5gal. One weekend you could easily use 7 gallons
Food for the weekend. $100-150
Travel costs (gas etc)
Hotel? Or camping?
Maintenance costs. 1 set of pads per year? ~$60
Brake fluid. $30
Engine oil. $60
Oil filters 1 per race weekend ~40
Spare bolts etc. $50

Racing tires.
You will also need leathers, helmet, gloves, boots
Helmet must be new, the rest should be...
Transponder, buy or rent...
A trailer, or other suitable means of getting the bike
to the track....
You can try and race only one event a year, but you
will very quickly become addicted....
Besides, it's a lot of work to only have fun once a year no?

What is the transponder used for?

A small device that mounts to the bike and transmits a signal that is read by a wire in the road surface.
It's how lap times and the actual timing and scoring is done. Then you can look at your results online a few days after the race.

I see.. Are they expensive to buy or can one
rent it for each race? I did a couple of ironman
triathlons and they would give you a chip
Similar to record your start and finish times
for each stage...

Here's the rental agreement, as far as a new one someone else will have to chime in.

may I know what racing wheels you may recommend? I am also looking for truck accessories that could help in transporting the bike. What bike trailer would you guys recommend? Is a drop-tail trailer any good?
