I've just built a 1974 Z1 Race Bike
Frame has been braced and raked, GPZ 1100 front forks (38mm F tubes) w stiffer springs,1000J triples, braced KZ 750L swingarm, 18" Wheels 2.15"F , 3"R, Professional base/clear coat Maui Blue paint, 530 chain conversion, Hindle exhaust. Marzocchi piggyback Shocks. Lochart Oil cooler
Engine: KZ 1000 .025" over with NOS CB 450 pistons custom machined.1030cc, Trued and welded 900 crank (lighter for quicker revs), Head fully ported ,shaved .015", HD valve springs,.420 lift cams w slotted sprockets, degreed 108 110, new Cam chain, MKII KZ 1000 Head. Most of the motor work was done by Ted Glinny of Milton.
Only 5 minutes on engine running in the shop and 5 minutes on the road.
Bike has been completely drilled for lockwire.Bike can be kick started. Electric start has been removed for weight savings along with stator, total loss.
This is as close to a brand new bike as your going to get. Everything has been replaced. I even have a spare tail piece and tank that was painted with the bodywork shown in the picture. Tires are now Avon race tires. All that needs doing is putting on the number plates and lockwiring. I will entertain street trades!
$5000 Firm . My asking price barely covers my investment. At $5000 my labour works out to minimum wage from before I was born, pre 65.
