Vintage Stuff Clearout

Postby Brian Stevenson » Tue Sep 12, 2023 12:09 pm

I'm clearing out all my vintage stuff and have totes full of parts for CB350's (No Engines or tanks), KZ/GPZ 550's (Gone) , RZ350's, and 1st gen SV650's (Gone) and some parts for Honda NC30's (Gone) and RD400's.

Its too much to inventory to list but if you need something specific let me know and if I have it, I'll set it aside as I go through it. I won't be at the AGM but post or pickup works

I'm gone on business for about a week but everything will be going to the landfill on September 22

How about a workable RZ transmission, or even just 6th gear (drive and driven) and the forks?

So its a normal LC then :)

Let me check. I know 6th gear on the RD has 4lO part numbers and the RZ ones are 29L so I don't think its a straight swap. I believe the RZ ones are wider to stop it wearing as quickly.

I guess you don't know if its the input or output gear until you get it pulled apart? You would think it would be the gear on the input shaft as the output gear is splined and rotates with the shaft

A a friend of mine did have a complete transmission as there was someone else in the VRRA looking for one. I can see if he still has it.

I also think there is a brass bush on that gear. I wonder of it would be possible to make one or just replace it with a needle bearing.

Do you have a 1982 GPZ 550 gas tank by chance

Hi Paul

Unfortunately you are a few weeks too late. I did have a really nice one that was spotless inside and had a nice flush mount race filler cap that was fitted by CMR and a Pingle Guzzler Petcock. I sold it at the Grand Prix.

I thought it was a great deal as it went for $50.

Its hard to find clean ones. People want $100 for rusty junk on FleaBay. I guess what they ask and what they get are 2 different things. I just shake my head sometimes

I'll have another look when I get home though. I bought a 1982 or 1983 Chassis from Dave Mascioli a few years ago and it had a tank but it was cracked around one of the mounting ears. Byron Cox could probably fix it pretty quickly though. He does amazing work and is very reasonable considering the quality. I don't know if I still have it or it went to the dump but if I do its yours free if you can use it.

You may also want to reach out to Dave. I know he retired and sold his GPZ and I know he had a mountain of parts.

I don't suppose you would have a set of CB350 cylinders and pistons?

Hey Brian, I'm looking for a few stock parts for a 350 I'm putting on the street.
- Seat
- Exhaust headers
- R&L side air filter housings and covers

Hi Glen. What Year RD?

I don't have a seat but have 4L0 pipes. I also should have an air boxes and covers for a 31K, 29L and 4L0, but they are all the one piece airboxes

Hi Howard. I have no Daytona parts at all. Everything would have been from the 76 and 77 models. I

I did have some RZ stuff but its all gone. I had a couple of cranks that were swapped out from the race bike - they would still be good for the street - and cases, heads, etc. The bulk for the RZ stuff was body parts, brackets, stands, birdcages, wiring and switches, wheels, brakes, etc that were stripped off to build race bikes.
