Hi Ashton

thanks for the early posting. Now we can all start complaining. :D

For the GB round, these 2 classes- P1-200, Pre-1965 350- were run with P2 light, thereby enabling me to at least attempt to run my Pre-65 350 class bike (like I knew that the relatively unused Motion Pro throttle tube would snap on the first lap!).

AT CTMP you have them running with P1-350 and p1-open. Is it possible to retain class groupings through out the season?

I am sure you moved it because you need somewhere for all the Pre-1950 bikes (the Rudge's etc) to run, but they could flip with the classes I am mentioning, and they are no more of a speed differential to the p1-Open bikes than they are to the P2 light.

If this is not possible, I'll shut the #@#$ up gladly and promise to never bitch or moan about it and just enter it in Pre-65 500.

Thanks, Chris M

Well, it's easy. Register for your races and I build the schedule around pre-entrants. The above does accommodate them, but if they don't register and you do guess what? 08/04 comes and the schedule is set. If you both register and there's a bunch of conflicts I'll just schedule you all on Thursday and we can have Fizzer-Fest the rest of the weekend... :)

Register for the classes you want to run. I'll take care of as much as I can.

Looks like I don't need to rush and finish my P1-200 bike now either , I can't race 2 bikes in the same race now , why do you keep changing the classes every round ?

Did you even try to read the post just previous to yours before making that wisdom-filled remark Alan?

I'll speak slower this time: Register for the races you want to race and I build the schedule around the Pre-Registered entrants.

To answer your question, I keep changing the schedule because I'm working to make a better racing experience for everyone. Your bitching about a schedule that might not work for a bike you haven't built yet....?

Good luck Alan, hope you get it finished in time..

sorry Ashton , it's just frustrating that all last year P1-200 ran with P2L and the first 2 races of the year ran in P2L and I've been building the little Yamaha to race in P1-200 all year for Mosport and then I saw the conflict .

oh well , i'm sure it'll all work out

Allan

p.s I wouldn't fire you , you're doing a great job , just take it easy with the insults please , :D

Hi Ashton,

In past events, racers who have back to back races have been able to leave a bike at the pit wall. They could then do a quick swap.

Would that be happening again? I know it takes extra work all around, just curious if its a possibility? I am in P4F3 and P2-Middleweight, 11:30 Race 2 and 11:45 Race 3.

I don't truly mind them being close, just wondering if the pit thing is available?

P.S. I just registered as well. Didn't know you developed schedules based off pre-registration, you work harder at this than I do at my real job.

Thanks!

When you roll up the hill to pre-grid there is a long section of concrete wall to your left. Put your second bike anywhere along that wall and you can leave your first bike there as well when you come off. The cooler at pit out is kept fully stocked with waters the entire event specifically for volunteers and back to back racers.

Remember don't panic!

Race control and pit out have a complete list by bike number of everyone who has back to back events, so they are expecting you, and we're always prepared with an extra 2-5min for those events so you can catch your breath and take in some water before heading back out.

Thanks for all your work Ashton...

I think you might get some grief on the 5 Lap heat races...though a lot of races often get sorted out in the first 2 laps...

Is this the shortest heat races we have ever had? Did the track get longer? Are we trying to jam too much into the day? Just curious... Interested in your thoughts going forward...

The problem is (insert hour long lecture from AGM) and there's really no fixing that until we accept the fact that some bikes simply take longer to go around the track than others do. The resultant output of our current equation is an unrealistic 6/8 lap expectation, and a dissapointing 5/5 lap output. I'd rather present the membership with a (hopefully) attainable lap goal up front than deal with another hour long "how do we fix CTMP?" discussion when it's not CTMP that's broken.

I do not know if it's the shortest heat races we've ever had. It's longer than 1/3 of the club got for a final last year...

The track did not get longer.

I think our current class structure is adequate. We could actually fit significantly more.
