Ok VRRA folks, hold onto your hats- and preferably your smart phones, tablets and/or laptops.

The VRRA continues to make big strides in improving communication and generally just trying to take advantage of all the conveniences of the 21st century.

To that end, we will be attempting something new at the Vintage Festival this year.
We will be Tweeting live paddock feed via Twitter in order to help ensure a smoother race weekend for all.

Yes, I said Twitter.....

It was decided that this could be a very useful tool if used the correct way. It allows instant communication to anyone with a twitter account. And the best part is there is no cost to the club.... That's right, its absolutely free to use. It only takes a few hard working volunteers (and an internet connection) to keep the entire club and known Twiterverse up to date with live paddock information.

For those of you who know all about Twitter, just ensure that you are following VRRACANADA and that you have all notifications turned on for us. This will allow you to receive instant notifications of race calls/red flag etc, so that you do not miss your sessions or overheat in the pre-grid.

This weekend will be our first attempt at this so do not expect it to go without the odd bump in the road. So don't be afraid to use the tried and true method of paying attention to the paddock around you!

And for those of you wondering what gibberish is being spouted above....

You need to get yourself a Twitter account. And download whatever app is required to use Twitter on your mobile device (smart phone with data connection is the best bet).

You then need to follow VRRACANADA.
You then need to make sure your device will receive notifications from VRRACANADA.
There are two things that need to be done to ensure you will get instant notifications.
1. In your device settings somewhere, there will be a method of allowing apps to give you instant notifications. Make sure that your Twitter app is enabled.
2. Once you are in your twitter app, under "Following" select VRRACANADA, select settings and turn on notifications.

That's pretty much it. After that your phone should notify you of any tweets from VRRACANADA. So have your device on and somewhere handy when you are awaiting your sessions.

But can you hear the horn? My vintage ears don't always work as well as they should.
