2012 AGM Awards

Postby Michael Vinten » Sat Sep 01, 2012 3:30 pm

I am trying something different this year by asking for input from our members for the AGM awards. If you know of a rider or member who would be a worthy recipient for any of the following awards, please let one of the exec know. The executive will make the final decisions. Generally we go with three names for the Roger Beaumont Award which is voted on at the AGM. The tech committee is primarily responsible for the Dorman Diesel and Mary McCaw awards.

Sportsman Trophy: Awarded for sportsmanlike conduct.

Most Improved Rider: Awarded to the rider who has developed racing abilities, which epitomize the VRRA code of friendly competition.

President’s award:* Awarded to the most successful campaign on a GP Motorcycle.

Rookie of The Year:* Awarded to the novice rider showing future potential.

Most Meritorious Performance: Awarded for meritorious performance on or off the track.

Roger Beaumont Award:* Member who made greatest contribution.

Dorman Diesel Award:* Awarded for technical excellence in machine preparation.

Mary McCaw Award:* Awarded to the “OWNER” of P1 Machine. Technically constructed and maintained to a high standard. Presented in a professional manner. Competitive and reliable.

We have received several names for the various awards. As expected some of the names were not on our list but very worthy of consideration. If you would like to propose other names there is still time. Please send to me or any other exec member.
