He doesn't have a problem with our internal attempts to drum up support, but any public announcement of a race at Circuit Mont-Tremblant before a contract is signed is an infringement of their name and will work AGAINST any possible contract negociations. I am changing the entry form and info sheet posted on the home page and need anyone who has posted elsewhere to remove their postings or those postings will be counter-productive to our racing at that venue.
As per my original intent, we must keep this amongst our club members and once a decision is made and a contract is signed, THEN and ONLY THEN can we start publicizing a Quebec G.P. at that track.

Dom and I are not advertising a race. We may be Deficients, but we're not stupid. I read Dom's post on the WERA vintage forum and it states that if we have enough pre-entries, we might go racing at Tremblant. Nobody's promising anything, just testing the grounds for interest.

BTW, that name infrigement argument is, once again, of a highly questionnable legal nature. Tremblant should know about it, they were on the provisionnal calendar for World Superbikes in 2004 or 2005 I think and the race never occured. Did they sue them for that ? Same thing here.

Seriously Brian, sometimes it sounds like you don't really want to go there. Excuse us for being enthusiastic about the project... :roll:

Brian , I posted on the WERA forum 24h before your warning (oct 2nd at 7h30 PM), there was already some feedback from our US members when you said not to post anywhere else and i copied your exact text from your original post.

BTW my question was never answered about the checks, will they be cashed when received? Or held on to until we are ready to sign a contract.

1st of all, as explained to me on the phone, other organisations looking to rent track time with them might not call because we are advertising that we have the track on a weekend that they wanted to rent. That is prejudicial to the track. And secondly, they don't have to sue. They just have to refuse to offer us a date if we start doing things that aren't quite kosher. SO!!!

I just looked up my noise results and note that I am louder at Mosport (5 dB over) than the two short tracks (TT and Qc at 2 dB or less over).

MT shows 3 circuit configs, which one are we trying to get?

My H2 can't use that 4 stroke noise reduction unit posted as its a 2 stroke, I already have my pipes packed so packing them is not an option, they are not stingers so they don't accept the silencers that are on market (I would have to make my own!), I have the orginal exhaust lumps but would need to jet way down, they weigh a lot more and don't help cornor clearence either. Not good "go fast" options here. :(

By the way, if you think you just need to drop 1 dB to meet I would advise you rethink that strategy. Sound measurement has lots of variance due to sound meter used, temperature, humidity and location. You need some margin to ensure you pass their measurement at their track wih their meter.

Thanks for the answer, so its the long track.

That means I need to drop it down almost 7 dB to ensure a pass. That's going to take some work. I'm not even sure if the stock ones are quiet enough for that.

On the Cherrypicker webisite there was a brief discussuing about GP bikes at Tremblant and Calabogie

By what quick method can we quickly contact current VRRA members,and lapsed VRRA members who do not have internet access to let them know quickly of the possibility that a chance exists that we maybe might have the opportunity to have a VRRA speed contest at Tremblant if they quickly support the IDEA with money before Nov 4 ?
A phone-chain works quickly and I volunteer to do a bunch of phoning.But who do I phone?Are the names and phone numbers of these people secret,as we no longer publish a members roster?
Riders to target most quickly would be the "one race wonders" who race with us only at Mosport,past and present.They are VRRA members,albeit "one race members", so we wouldn't be going outside the "family" and therefore wouldn't be guilty of advertising.
Even better,would our executive quickly authorise a "snail-mail" notification to these riders? How quickly could this happen? I'll stuff envelopes and lick stamps,quickly,if that will help.
Is it possible also to have a quick mass e-mailing to all members access so that those who rarely check the VRRA website can become aware of the situation?
Just some quick thoughts.Did I mention that time is of the essence?

We have 4 full weeks before the cutoff date, so I don't think there's any need for panic... just yet! :D

Seriously, though. I really believe that word-of-mouth is going to get this event known to everybody and they will have ample time to sign up (if they want to that is).

Regardless, I hope what the new executive see from all this is that my 2 Quebec friends (and many others on this tread) have great enthusiasm and the passion to make a Quebec GP something that we can all be proud of. All they need is the proper opportunity...

This seems to jive with what I was stating, you need margin or one day you can fail and the next day you can pass. I would look to build it to pass 90 and not 92.

The other problem I see is we now have no more race weekends to modify and test our changes which leaves some of us guessing if we have a mod that is good or not. You can't test it in your garage (it needs to be under load to test) and full throttle tests down your FT street will get you arrested.

So question, if I sign up and pay this year and I find that it still fails at Quinte in 2011, do I get a refund?
