Came across this poster on ebay, actually saw the same one for sale in Laguna. Taken at Mosport at the top of corner 2, year unknown. I think it is Norm Murphy driving, but not sure on the passenger ..

My 1969 GP program has #232 Norm Murphy and Art Daley, by the 1970 GP Norm had #8 and B. Boyce in the chair.
Norm's later green and blue sidecar was one of the prettiest machines on the track, I think it may have been a "Kitten" from the UK.

Is that the same Art Dailey who works with his brother John at Motorcycle City in Richmond Hill.John finished his racing career with the #1 plate in '99 I believe. Jerry

John started racing sidecar the same year with Mike ? Leece in the chair, the following year they were both out on separate rigs. John on #248 the Triumph powered "Manx Cat", and Art on #286 Norton powered "Cougar". They retired around 2000 with #1 plates in the SRA on a snowmobile engine powered F1, and were made life members afterwards.
As far as I know they continued racing sidecars uninterrupted throughout that period. They are still the most enthusiastic pair of spectators and show up at many sidecar events. A really great pair and always welcome.

I see John regularly.He built the Z1 motor for me and is now working on a 650 Yamaha motor.I believe he was born on the Isle of Man and has some interesting racing stories,he raced a Norton powered sidecar there once,and has built some interesting rigs over the years.His racing history would make an interesting article for the Baffled Muffler. Jerry

Go to it Jerry, the Daley's ran the Island for a start, They might stand you interviewing them, a couple of brews usually help.
