Oil & Gas

Postby Cor-Blimey » Tue May 26, 2015 4:01 pm

Guys,

My old F2 used to have baffles in the oil sump .... do any of you guys have these ?
Or do you overfill to compensate for oil swish ?
Also what Viscosity of oil do you recommend ?

How do these old engines handle unleaded gas ... is this an issue - do they need some kind of additive ?

Sorry for all of the newbie questions.

I figured the XS sump filter acted as a bit of a baffle, never saw a need to overfill. It's also a roller bearing bottom end so it can tolerate some oil pressure drop. Been using quality 20/50 dino oil, with some ZDDP added. Unless your going to have more than 11-1 compression Shell 91 works fine.
