To think I survived Modern Sidecar Racing

Postby limy_1 » Sat Sep 17, 2011 2:35 pm

I suppose that this is an appropriate final release from this past weekend from the Bonneville Vintage Gran Prix at Miller Motorsports Park sponsored by AHRMA.

The sidecar team of Sean Bakken and Roger Preston aka. Roadkill Racers sponsored by The Roadkill Cafe` of Seligman, AZ had a decent showing at the Gran Prix placing 4 each day of racing. They did however have a poor placement when it came to the local newspaper, The Salt Lake Tribune on Sunday morning.

The only coverage of the racing at Miller in the SLT was a picture of the Roadkill Racers in the Attitudes and a brief blurb and a suggestion for pictures online. The placement in the paper did cause a chuckle thru the paddock and the refrain “The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated”, (Samuel Clemens).
The photo was placed at the top of the Obituaries page.
