Postby chairman » Thu Dec 30, 2010 7:25 pm

the tyre pressure for the dunlop sidecar 16 inch tyre is ? I was running 30 lbs . but I really dont know if I was in the ballpark or not. how many people run the front with the arrow going in the reverse direction? food for thought , and if you didnt run sidecar tyres what would you use

ball park 24-26 front 26-28 rear (wet track let 2 lbs out) some think since there is no acceleration load on the front that the stress in the tyre is mostly during braking and therefor reversed. the tread is made to shed water and may not work as well in reverse. having run both ways can't say I noticed any difference.
John Wilson? found a batch of "Twintire" obsolete security car tires on the west coast at Dauntless 253-638-1793 at a very good price. They are perhaps 1/2-1" larger but fit bike rims fine, If Jay still has any left. a lot of the USCRA teams used solo tires with decent results. I have to say the Dunlops do it for me. Paul.
