While the idea will certainly be fun to watch, I see potential problems when we file onto the track with moving rigs at different speeds, so I am not in favour.
I don't think race control would allow this to happen. Having moving obstacles on a hot track (not temperature) while sidecars are frantically roaring off the line seems to me to be an unnecessary danger. A risk vs. benefit analysis would deem this unsafe. Why do I have to be the old fun ruining fuddyduddy?
I'm just saying, this would make Dean or Chris drop a steamer!
It would! But, there's nothing explicitly forbidding it. On a personal level I think it's a fun idea, but on a CC level I really don't like hearing about bad knees and bikes that don't idle... I have to admit it makes me nervous too, just not "Steamer Nervous".
My bike doesn't idle ( no idle circuit) so it would have to be started which it doesn't like to do lol. And getting mounted onto our sidecar is not a quick process. I'd like to carry on with the normal gridding procedure.

Sounds like you may need to take a look at the shift star on the end of the shift drum.... RZ350s and Banshees have this issue too. You can google Banshee shift start mod.
