I am a Heat Treat operator in the aerospace industry. While not a "for hire" business I have access to some really cool lab equipment and inspection stuffs as well as some of the best welders in existance :D
I have been known from time to time to coerce my fellow employees to take on a "goverment job" for the betterment of vintage motorcycle racing
So if I can help someone out just drop me an email

Can I call you dick?
Maybe it should be Ken. What the .... is going on here ?
There are legimate shops here in Ontario that work hard for this business.
They are struggling to pay winter wages... and next years mechanics
- consider dude.

Here is a scoop for you Mike or should it be Dick?
Before you start running your mouth at me read the post I was asked a question and answered it. I dont owe shit to shops in Ontario I have yet to get a significant break from one yet.
I am not doing this to take anything away from shops here. I just offered to help a fellow racer out.....period.
If shops in Ontario want to step up and support the sport I will support them. 95% of my teams sponsorship comes out of the states and the rest is non-industry related so pardon me for not giving a damn.
I have even known you to take advantage of a deal or two in the past Mike

Seems like a strange discussion since most bike shops do not have the ability to bore cylinders. They send it out to a machine shop and then mark up the price to the customer. I'm not sure where the ethical issue sneaks in. Do we feel as strongly for the guy in the machine shop? What about the guy in Ken's machine shop? If a trail rider crashes in a forest and suffers a compound fracture but nobody is there to hear this, do his screams make a noise? These are tough questions.

I knew that first degree in philosophy would come in handy sometime! :)

Where?
