Starting a business ... I need everything

I've had enough of working for someone else. I'm setting out on my own. I know what I'm going to do, I have customers lined up, that's not a problem, BUT ... I need everything! If anyone has any of the following to offer a fledgling engineering consulting firm then I'll keep the $$ within the racing community. There is not much time though, I have to move fast on this.

Legal services (I need to incorporate and properly write up a contract/agreement between myself and one other partner)
Professional engineering liability insurance
General business insurance
Some sort of substitute for the benefits plan that I've had as an employee (dental, eyeglass, travel medical, long term disability)
Laptop - blackberry - laser printer - all set up so that it works properly together (I don't have time to fiddle around with all this to make it work together myself)
Filing cabinets
Probably more that I don't even know that I need.

Send me a PM ...

Hi Brian
Good for you. I am finding out what its like to go out on your own. You get to work all the overtime that you want and it pays 60 minutes an hour.
For your benefits plan, check out your local Chamber of Commerce. Some smaller towns have a cheaper rate than larger cities. The Chamber has a group benefit package that offers a group rate for smaller business that most insurance companies won't even look at. They also have some other good benefits plus a free breakfast once a month.
Good Luck
Zenon

Had a good meeting with my future business partner. Looks like the computer side of things is all set. Thanks for the tip on the Chamber of Commerce.

As for the hourly rate, let's just say that I look forward to getting paid for quite a few more minutes out of that hour than I currently get paid for doing the same thing ...
