2015 Sidecar Reunion

Vintage sidecars will be on the schedule for the last RACE round September 26/27 at Shannonville. This event is also the last round for the SRA modern sidecars. The modern and vintage sidecars will have separate practices and races as they did last year. Entry forms will be available on the RACE web...

Re: Sidecar gridding problems

Nothing in the rule book but it is in the Competitor's safety items and procedures document that everyone acknowledges reading when entering!! With multiple sidecar classes we may not be on rows 1, 3, 5 etc as the electronic system allows a row between classes. At the TT, row 1 was for P3 and row 4 ...

Re: Sidecar tryout for racers

Essentially it would be "by invitation" in that you would know who will be the passenger. One can also choose to let someone drive your rig. Allowing only registered riders means that helmet and gear have been teched, waiver signed and they know the track. Riders can approach who they woul...

Re: Sidecar tryout for racers

I agree that the situation is not ideal and parade laps for spectators and riders is good for all, however parade laps will not happen this year as Ashton explained. My proposal was to entice our riders to try sidecars as most of us came from 2 wheels. Friday being a non race day may make it easier ...

Sidecar gridding problems

At the Quebec GP and the Quinte TT we had drivers who did not line up in the correct row. Because of having several periods in one race we do not always line up on rows 1, 3, 5 etc. The third row at the TT was not on row 3 but row 6. When the first person arrives on the wrong row other teams move up...

Sidecar tryout for racers

I discussed with Ashton about using one of the sidecar sessions on Friday as a time to take out potential passengers or to allow another rider the chance to drive a sidecar. These would not be parade laps as they would only be open to riders registered for the Friday practice or endurance race. Neit...

Re: Transponder purchase

The old ones are not obsolete, as long as transponders send a signal that the loop picks up, they are good to go. We have 34 rental units and no plans to upgrade them until they fail. The new ones have more features as described here http://www.mylaps.com/en/x2-benefits-kart

Re: Transponder purchase

Prices listed include transponder and a 1, 2 or 5 year subscription. When the subscription runs out the owner pays to renew the subscription. X2 transponders are new so I do not know all the details beyond what is on Mylaps. The Kart (yellow) is what 95% of the club uses - it works on all bikes so l...

Re: Sidecar Alley

Most vintage guys also race solo so we tend to be everywhere. I will likely pit in the same area as RACE round 1 - far east lane.

Re: New team - Wanted to say hi.

Welcome. It will be nice to see another woman on the sidecar grid. The sidecar field should be good this year and we usually put on a good show. You will enjoy the VRRA, lots of racing to entertain you when not on the track.

Medical Data Carriers

Medical Data Carrier has been selected as part of our medical response plan. The VRRA will require the use of Medical Data Carriers effective with the 2015 season. This requirement came about partially as a result of several incidents last year in which the rider was not carrying their medical card....
