Re: Bike substitution

Endurance racing is as much a test of the machine as it is of the riders. That is a key part of the attraction of endurance racing. I do not support substitution of bikes during the race. It involves more work for the volunteers and is inherently unfair to teams who do not have access to a replaceme...

Bike substitution

While reviewing the endurance rules, the issue of bike substitution after the race has started was raised. The proposal is that substitution would be allowed with the following conditions; the replacement bike must use the same transponder and racing number, bike must have passed tech inspection bef...

Re: 2023 Calabogie 3 Hr Endurance

I'm not in favour of 3hours. Running past 5:00pm means a lot of volunteers have to work late plus added costs for medical staff. I don't see 3 hours pulling in more teams, in fact there may be a drop if all teams require 3 riders. How many will drop Friday practice if they were doing the endurance r...

Re: Rules clarification for an EX500

I replied to Brian's friend directly but should have copied the reply here. Engine limit refers to the cc of each engine type, thus four stroke twins are allowed up to 650cc no matter what their original size was. The 5% is in all classes because some engines are at the class limit stock and would n...

Re: Period 5 rules / class acceptance?

Yes the P5 rules will be voted on at the agm.

I would prefer to receive any proposed changes asap, so that we can review them and if considered acceptable by the P5 committee and the tech committee, they could be incorporated before the vote. Several changes have been made during the trial period.

Re: Rain Light

Not many comments from racers. The tech committee discussed rain lights and have no problem with their use, provided they are constantly on (no flashing) and well secured.

Re: Rain Light

Tim,
Are you looking for comments from other riders regarding rain lights or asking for approval from Tech?

RACE Sep 21-22

If you need one more turn on the track before the long winter, all sidecars are welcome to run with the SRA at the season ending RACE round Sep 21-22. An SRA membership is required and one event memberships can be paid for at the track (I look after SRA memberships and tech). The plan is to run the ...

Thanks Gary

My rear wheel spokes were new for Mosport last year. I had several break at the TT which were replaced for Calabogie. I replaced 4 rear wheel spokes after Saturday's race at Calabogie. I eased up on Sunday (it was hard watching the pack leave me) but still broke another 5 spokes. Gary offered me the...

Re: Rule book update

Most were unaware that the VF750 was available in 1982 in some markets outside North America when the membership voted out the restriction on water cooled four strokes that had been in place since P3 was created. No one has asked the Tech Committee to include later VF750s, which would require proof ...
