I am familiar with the process Brad. Changing the mid pipe and can location is an easy mod, I personally don't think it is necessary. There are lots of examples mixed models in the club, crossing a 2 stroke frame and body with a 4 stroke engine is entirely reasonable. The exhaust can go where it fit...

Honda's FWS1000 from 1982, first V4 on the track, one pipe under tail and one right side. The NR was likely the first street bike to run under tail exhaust.

GP two strokes were doing it for years prior to the FWS
