Re: P1 350 Project

Ken Livingstone campaigned one of these in P1-350 a few years ago, with some success I should add :D

Re: Questions for a sidecar project...

My reference to replicas is a bit misleading. What I meant was a replica of a bike that, although it appeared as a one off or works machine in the period, does not meet our rules for that period. This would not include things like ‘new’ Manx Nortons or G50s as they meet all our rules for period 1, a...

Re: Questions for a sidecar project...

The creation of replicas of bikes that raced in each period has always been a bone of contention within the Tech/Rules Group, going back for years. There was the works, alloy monocoque 250cc Ossa that raced in the world championships in the late Period 1 period and even an alloy tube framed BSA twin...

Re: 2014 Quebec GP Results and Final Championships

Thanks for getting the results up so quickly, Neal. Do you know why a couple of classes in the Championship site do not include all 4 rounds, P2L for instance?

Re: 89 CB1

I really hate to highjack Paul’s post any further than it has been already but, as usual, Steve B has let his bias show and I have to respond with some facts. In fact there was a bike presented to tech with an undertail exhaust during Dave Hall’s time as Tech Chair many years ago and the rider was a...

Re: 89 CB1

Francois, Eligibility forms, or lack thereof, have nothing to do with whether a bike has to meet the requirements of our rules to be considered legal. Every year, when you complete the membership renewal form, everyone signs the following statement (bold by me): I hereby apply for annual membership ...

Re: CRTT Aermacchi

Ray, Peter was a VRRA member in 1983/4 and still appears to live at the same address in TO. I will send you an email with details.

Re: Sidecar Champions Since 1923 - Book

I second Stephen's recommendation of The Book Depository. I have bought a few books from them, including one on the Moto Rumi that I was told was long out of print. Excellent service and pricing. That sidecar book looks interesting, even as a solo rider but someone interested in the history of all t...

David Makin

It is with great sadness that I inform you that David Makin passed away on Tuesday evening as a result of cancer. David was a member of the VRRA between 1982 and 1992 (membership # 157) and long time members will remember him as part of the “Ottawa gang” who rode a BSA 441 in those early days of the...

Re: all is quiet

The way the "overbore" allowance is written in the various places in our rules has been recognized as a problem. I did publish a revised version in the Dec 09/Jan 10 Baffled Muffler tech report and stated that the wording would be changed when next the rules were revised. Unfortunately the...

Re: all is quiet

[. Not being an Exec anymore dosen't mean you can stop making sense, be it financial or otherwise. All I see here is hate, derogatory nomenclature included. Quite dissapointing, really... It is OK for Dominic to speculate about eliminating sidecars to make room for P5 but it is not OK for me to disa...

Re: all is quiet

Hi Paul, Now that I'm not on the Exec any more I can throw in my opinions just like everyone else :D The opinion expressed in the thread on the member's forum (Left on the Table) about the need to look at sidecars as a way to make room for P5 is just Dominic's opinion. This was not even considered a...

Re: machine eligibility form

I cannot let Larry's comment go unchallenged. Of the 200 bikes we teched at Mosport last weekend only a few of those belonging to club members did not have an eligiblity number issued. The small number of remaining bikes were either one event members who only come out to Mosport or visiting riders f...
