Re: P1 200

Getting my desktop rebuilt so I'm not able to post any photos of the CB92R just yet, but checked the frame and engine numbers today and found that I have a '63, not a '65 like I thought I'd bought, so I guess I can run pre-'65 as well (have to check with the tech committee)? Don't know what I prefer...

Re: MidProd 500 Single

Looking good!
Those aren't cardboard, its a special composite material! Very, very lightweight! But what class has brown number plates and black numbers?

Re: P1 200

Good call running the later steel rotary valve - that's a KE175 steel valve and collar, right? The fiber ones break apart too easily at high rpm, especially when they've been modified, though I did cut back the one on my 100 Kaw and it seemed to last okay, but I was extra careful and polished the ed...

Re: Need help P1200 T25 questions inside *look*

Hi Dom, Nice bike! Looks like it has the late model front forks and DLS brake I talked about earlier, probably the 18" rim too. IMHO, run a front fender with a fork brace - you're used to the sturdy Hawk forks and those Brit forks aren't that stiff. Even a smallish front fender will keep the sh...

Re: Need help P1200 T25 questions inside *look*

Hi Dom, Ashton's suggestion re: front end has a lot of merit but I suggest you PM Peter Balfour - a lot of the stuff he's done to his B50 as regards suspension, etc should be directly applicable to your bike - probably a late model alloy front end and conical dls front brake will fit on (same steeri...

Re: P1 200

OMIGOD ANOTHER F7! Soon we'll have to rename P1-200 the mid-seventies enduro bike class 'cause that's what everyone will be running. A good point about the condition of your bike though - if it's half as good in real life as the photo, why not keep it as-is and find a skanky one to convert to race t...

Re: P1 200

Holy Crap Allan, didn't realize the Baby Duke had so little power! Rode one really briefly back in the '60's and it seemed to be able to keep up with traffic and whatnot but wasn't particularly fast. But then again, we're talking stock... Your comment on the various HP of the bikes is well taken. Gi...

Re: P1 200

Hey Rick, Ya, Stan is pretty much the bomb when it comes to helping out fellow VRRA members - not many cut from the same cloth as our Stan and that's a fact. What our club is all about. Did a little bit of work on your main competition today (my ersatz CB92), modifying the fairing to look more 1963-...

Re: P1 200

What size rims are you running and what tires? My shouldered front is a WM1X18 that was running a 3.00 tire and I have a TD1 rear wheel with a WM1X18, which was the factory-correct rim for the early ones at least. It looks like I need a front brake with a left side backing plate to use the CA92 link...

Re: P1 200

Nice looking pipes to be sure, but for the next gen motor after mine and as I said, going for the "1963" look - which means two really long, really skinny megs for the exhaust. Who else has or is working on a P1-200? Or is it Rick, Colin and me? Wow, my first year of racing and I'll always...

Re: P1 200

As a bit of an update as to what the heck R U building Pat?, it's going to be a "stand off" or ersatz (fake) replica of the CB92 / CB92R Honda twins that were built from 1959 through 1964. For sure I can't afford a real one or any CYB race parts - a late model restored CB92 sold for 8000 G...

Re: P1 200

I picked up my wee beauty last night. Carried it down from the guy's attic and consequently, am taking pain killers for my neck and back today. Engine in a box - ah a seized piston, how lovely! A gas tank so rusty, it sounded like maraccas when I shook it. How she glistened in the moonlight - her pu...

Re: P1 200

Subtitle: "Pat's search for a P1-200 Bike is Over...for Now" Was perilously close to driving up to Arnprior to check out an F7 in pretty rough condition when a project bike presented itself to me this afternoon. The seller and I have come to "an agreement" and if all goes well sh...

Re: P1 200

No sweat Colin,
When you dig into the F7 a bit and see what you need, let me know what you feel like discarding. As I said, just a (more or less complete) motor would be a place to start.
