Re: Sparkplugs ...

NGK B9ES are one heat range colder than stock and I was told by a much more experienced plug-reader than me that the B8ES were too glazed (too hot) to get a good reading.Never had a spark plug issue with them.Available at auto parts store.Never tried the Iridium plugs praised by MikesXS and XSDirect.

Re: Passenger departure from rig

Further to what both Mike and Gary have commented on...the suggestion was to hold the yellow flag open over the head and 'shake vigorously' and then point at the rig in question. As stated, the Marshals will always be holding the yellow flag so precious seconds can be saved. I have been on both sid...

Re: Hypothetical schedule question

Mosport, sure, why not.Although as a group, the VRRA sidecars can put on a better spectator show at St.Moustache.

Re: Passenger departure from rig

A furled yellow flag pointed at you would only be noticeable when you get close to the marshal station, and by then the driver will probably have noticed, with possibly disastrous results, the lack of passenger holding the chair down.Ask me how I know this? Perhaps a "hold it steady, then poi...

Re: Questions for a sidecar project...

Like an exhibition class? That would be cool. 8) The reason that has been given in the past why this is not a good idea is because if the "exhibitionist" is competitive, even if not earning points,he could have an impact on the outcome of a race. But that could be said about any mixed class...

Bach to back races.

On the GB schedule,Sean and I have back to back races on Sun.,races 2 and 3,P4F3 and sidecars.Does this affect anyone else?If races 1 and 2 were switched,or 3 and 4,it would solve our problem.I can see why P3 light should be before P4F3,so that the many P3L riders who bump have their class race befo...

On the Grand Bend schedule (provisional?) sidecars are race 3,2nd before lunch. If it stays that way at Quebec,I'm in,if I can make the *&%#!" thing run reliably by then.

Re: Grand Bend Forms are up

I'm booked in at the prov. park Tue. 'til Thur.Gives me a 3 day safety buffer to cross the wilds of the GTA,and time to recover, but I was wondering how early we could arrive at the track.Apparently there's no electricity to be had,so the competition to be there early won't be so fierce.Bring your ow...

Re: overheating advise please

Another issue that comes to mind is the length of the probe."The probe is exactly the same length as the stock probe and has marks for measuring oil level." and "Groove around stem shows minimum immersion point on each thermometer." Will the probe be immersed in oil when the engi...

Re: overheating advise please

"These engines run hot." But does anyone know how hot, like by measuring oil temp or cylinder head temp.I'd be interested to see if the aerodynamic penalty of an unfaired bike is offset by the greater airflow around the engine.Except for Mosport,I don't think that improved aerodynamics make...

Re: Final Sidecar Mosport 2013

Merci,Roger.
Great racing at the beginning, but by the way the Sarnia boys drove away,we were obviously holding them up.Made them ride the wheels off it to make that spectacular last minute pass at the end. :D
