Team Ludicrous Speed

Team Ludicrous Speed... The Team started in 2017 when Darrell Cooney and I decided to run my FZR in the VRRA Endurance series. It's been a lot of fun- and a lot of work. Darrell was always the fast guy and was ever improving the bike set up, even right up to this year. I always joked that I was the ...

Announcement

I will be stepping down as Endurance Race Coordinator at the end of the season. It's been a lot of fun and the series has generally flourished with the introduction of the handicap system. Someone will have to step into the position - it's not a difficult or time-consuming role and I will be happy t...

Re: Bike substitution

So at Calabogie Team Shouldercheck 2.0 could have finished the race with a different bike? I wish I had known that... We intended to cover this at riders meeting as a one off for the 3 hour. But because we did not manage to cover it- we stuck with the standard rules in the rule book. My apologies f...

Re: Bike substitution

Woody- This is a different topic. But we do have tag team as a separate class for Calabogie. All lumped into one- with no handicaps. It’s on track finish only - like modern lightweight. As a trial. But you are scored separately from the other standard classes as this is technically a competitive adv...

Re: Vintage Open Classes

When the idea was originally being worked on- The time was around 1:18 for pro. We looked at the data and average number of entries etc. And right around 1:18 worked pretty well for pro track. Every track had a number estimated. What has happened to that since then is in the hands of Timothy - your ...

Re: Vintage Open Classes

I wasn’t there but looking at results there are a few stand outs in the junior class. The idea was to try and keep a distinction between the two groups. And there is a bit of a fuzzy line there. Fast riders on slow bikes could potentially fit. Slow riders on fast bikes could still potentially fit. B...

Re: Bike substitution

Not a chance…..
Not on a live racetrack.

There is a reason that they stopped putting vehicles on a live track….

Re: Bike substitution

Endurance racing is as much a test of the machine as it is of the riders. That is a key part of the attraction of endurance racing. I do not support substitution of bikes during the race. It involves more work for the volunteers and is inherently unfair to teams who do not have access to a replacem...

Re: Bike substitution

Total transponder laps/mileage should apply. pd No- it is an endurance race. Being able to change out a bike without any consideration in mileage is not fair for the teams that do complete the race on one machine. This echos WERA rules from back in the day. Except they were stricter in having to ha...
