Re: Quinte TT June 1, 2014 - 23 Photos

Hey Ken,
Neat photos, thanks for sharing. A great weekend from where I was sitting in my easy chair, watching the shenanigans on the track.

Re: For Sale, 2, 1968 Yamaha YR-2 350cc bikes

Brad, My fallback plan, should the bikes sell and I still want to give a shot at the wild and woolly world of P1 350, is to freshen up my '67 350 YR1 street bike, take off the lights, lockwire everything in sight and then fight my way to the back of the pack. Even with the stock motor and exhaust sy...

Re: For Sale, 2, 1968 Yamaha YR-2 350cc bikes

Back about 6 years ago, the tech committee okayed the use of '68 barrels but not '69 barrels and for sure, no TR2 parts in P1 (ya, I remember the TR2 - I was there the first time LOL) which I think is a sound decision. The YZ608 Yamaha project is another kettle of fish - was it the "prototype&q...

SOLD, 2, 1968 Yamaha YR-2 350cc bikes

Still following the sterling example of "the older boys" when it comes to downsizing, one of my buds and I are looking at shifting our '68 Yamaha 350's. We were going to convert them to either P1 350's (if the tech committee gives the nod that the bikes are "the same as" the 1967...

1965 YJ2 Yamaha 60cc Street Bike

Hi everybody, I guess I'm following Ken's good example and trying to downsize some projects and get rid of stuff I no longer have a use for. On the vein of projects, I have a 1965 - not a 1964 like I first thought (found the S/N search on Wed ) - Yamaha YJ2 60cc street bike. All original, was bought...

Re: P2 motor rules

I don't know about 2 CB350 motors in a hack, but if I can find them, I have some photos of a hack that was raced in Europe in the mid-sixties with 2, CB72 full chat racing motors in it. As I recollect, the trannies had been cut off and they ran to a common jackshaft and then to a Brit gearbox. There...

Re: Classics in Belgium 30 minute video

Thank you very, very much, Mat.
Almost made me want to get another Honda 4 - that 350/4(?) really sounded "the business"...

Re: Medical insurance to race in the U.S.

And if you think medical insurance costs a lot to race in the US, I know of one racing team who doesn't do the Isle of Man anymore, pretty much due to the cost of med insurance alone. And I heard of someone who fled the US of A owing 175 grand in hospital fees 'cause he didn't have med insurance. A ...

Re: 1969 Yamaha YS1 engined Yetman Frame

Hope it went to a good home. For those of you in the teen set - ie, less than 50 years old, Dave Yetman built some of the best frames ever. Had his own ideas on frame design and fabrication and as his website says, never had a frame issue due to manufacturing methods. He was probably best known for ...

Re: WOW Yamaha 350 reverse cylinder.

Hey Bill, Like the ride, ponder the pipes. By the time you have the stingers on plus the cans, pretty far past the end of the bike. I've been up since before 5:00 am today and am way too tired to dig through the rule book but suggest that perhaps you should and see if there is a max length beyond th...

Re: P1 200

And on other breaking news, friends in "high places" may have some "real" CB92 bits for my project. So far, a front brake stay has been proffered (if it can be found, been in storage these many years).
I feel 5mph faster already.
