Re: 2023 AGM Proxy Form

While there is nothing on the agenda requiring a membership vote, the membership in attendance provided there is a quorum has the power to conduct business requiring a vote. I many cases, a vote is taken on motions from the floor which give the Executive directions and potentially marching orders fo...

Re: Vintage Open Classes

Based on the number of riders, I would say the Split Opens are highly successful.

I will predict 12-15 senior at Bogie and 20 junior.

You are missing the point of Junior.

We are not adding more rules to become exclusive. The rules right now are inclusive.

Re: Vintage Open Classes

Kevin, Thanks for your 2 cents. Rest assured we have done analysis of the riders and lap times. There was no sandbagging either by slowing down or by riding a different bike. Several of the top riders are in fact riding their small bikes so kicking them out would result in less entries. If you look ...

Re: Vintage Open Classes

The suggested times are simply a guideline. For Pro Track last year 1:18 was a guideline. If a rider is faster, then they should consider moving to senior. If they are senior but significantly slower, they should move to junior. It is about closing speeds, safety, extra track time and fun. In severa...

Re: Vintage Open Classes

Originally there was only 1 open class and the speed differential between the fastest bikes and the slower bikes was the highest risk for an incident. Last year we introduced Open Jr. to encourage more riders to participate. By splitting the groups, there is still potential for lapping at the shorte...

Re: Bike substitution

Thanks for the comments so far. I am trying to balance rider satisfaction (meaning track time) with purist competition. Let’s consider this topic in the light of maximizing fun and not as a competitive advantage. In that light, this means the bike either limps back to the pits, or comes back in a cr...

Re: Bike substitution

I guess that is a possibility that would be safe for the rider provided you come back outside the fence.

But, that is really a special circumstance.

Back it up by one turn and are you allowed to walk around to get to Fabi? I think not safely.

This is a discussion.

Re: Bike substitution

Hi Gary, By the requirements of same transponder and numbers this would eliminate any bikes that do not return to the pits. So some examples could be: Bike limps back to pits with fuel or electrical gremlin. Bike comes back on the crash trailer during red or black flag. So a bike that runs out of ga...

Re: 2023 Calabogie 3 Hr Endurance

Hi all,

Discussion of the rules aside, I want to know if all prospective endurance racers like the idea.

If you would normally run the 2 hour event, would you run the 3?

Would any new teams join?

Would we lose any teams?

Thanks,

THE DOOR.

Re: 2023 Calabogie 3 Hr Endurance

This would have no effect on the rest of the day as the track would be rented for an additional hour to 6 pm and that cost would be recovered by the increased race fee.

Re: 2023 Calabogie 3 Hr Endurance

Hey Colin

I’m not sure if we can change the rule of 1 hr plus 2 laps but I will confirm.

For me, I would expand my team so more of my friends get to ride my bike.

2023 Calabogie 3 Hr Endurance

Hi all, I would be interested in getting feedback on the following proposal. I am proposing that the Calabogie round in 2023 feature a 3 Hr. Endurance race. Timing would be 3 pm to 6 pm. Additional cost would be approx $50 per team based on a minimum 20 team field. This would make the Bogie round sp...
