Hitting oil & running off track at 90mph at Roebling Roa

Lap 5 of the Formula 750 race at Roebling Road Raceway 2009 AHRMA race. Fast guy John Ellis and I hit oil at the same moment; you see the camera on my bike wiggle and I run wide but Ellis runs right off the track at 90 mph but manages to save it doing some high speed grass tracking and the guy has s...

I think a more sturdy fairing mounting might cure it... Things are certainly moving around too much.

My Norton vibrates like an industrial paint shaker while idling and then smooths out fairly nicely when the revs go up. In the Roebling video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuYrHKk9STA ), while on the grid the camera seems to compensate for this vibration by turning the shakes into a sort of 'heat...

There was a speed gun at Daytona and I only had readings for the one race with a best of 126 mph. It was a very windy day there, I'm not sure which end they had the gun at.

I was doing about 6500- 6700 rpm on the banks- not quite the 7000-7200 it should have been pulling but it was very windy that day and I'm not sure we had the gearing spot on. You bounce around like crazy on the banking and the very strange sensation of being partially upright and not perpendicular t...

Roebling Road Raceway- Daytona warm up race Feb. 27 2009

On board my 1972 750 Commando race bike starting on the front row of the second wave of the combined Sportsman/ BEARS race with 350 GP starting behind me. Roebling was a nice track with flowing turns and a very fast front straight. I win BEARS and end up 2nd overall with the fastest lap. http://www....

It was the seal on the door and the camera sound on low. You're a brave man in the rain. It was my first time at Daytona- we had 2 practices in the morning and it was the BEARS race followed by the F750 video. The engine is the start- my leathers and helmet are toast too- one boot is broken but I th...

It was a polished stock rod although with all the damage it was difficult to say whether the rod bolt or rod let go first. That is the Steve Maney ($) aftermarket crankcase with the big hole and the Maney Alloy barrels ($) were also completely cracked in half. The motor is all junk but the head.

Camera was a Gopro Wide. Worked well except that it is so wide angle that unless you are inches away from someone, they look a bit far away. I used it without the rubber seal to increase the sound.
