Re: Grand Bend Friday Practice.

I've entered for Sat & Sun, but have held off on Friday practice as I'm not sure if I'd even get out. :( Not much point in taking Thursday off just so I can sit in the pits on Friday. So how many do we have for Friday at this point?? Sounds like if we don't have 5, it's do your best to learn the...

Not sure that makes sense, as I broke the timing beam on the start, so I did start. However it makes no difference to the points result.

Re: Quebec GP sidecar rides

If everything is still together after Mosport, and has been pointed out the final race is before taxi rides then yes.

Re: 2014 Quinte TT Results and Series Points

Mine (#239, P2SC) for Sunday should be a DNF, not a DNS. Started on pole, ignition died in turn 3. :(

Re: Sidecar Numbers.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread. I was a SMP yesterday to monkey for Paul W on a new P2 he has built. It's for sale, and runs very nicely. At the same time Ron Brooks brought out his 'Garbut' P3 with a GT750 engine. 1st time out in 10 years for man & bike. Unfortunately Ron has been told that ...

Re: Grand Bend Friday Practice.

You have to register with the track for the Friday practice. Click on 'Grand Bend Raceway', then 'lapping days' at bottom of page. Select July 18 (Friday), quantity (1), and this will take you to a 'check out' page. http://www.grandbendmotorplex.ca/ The VRRA form is for Saturday & Sunday racing ...

Re: Grand Bend Friday Practice.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Ashton. Just don't want to take an extra day off, and then arrive Thursday to find I'm going to be sitting around Friday. Guess the best thing is for all the sidecars that want to do the 'paid practice' on Friday to get their forms into the track.

Re: Grand Bend Friday Practice.

Sounds like at best we might have 4 rigs, so probably best to check with Ken to see if we would even get practice sessions on Friday.

Re: overheating advise please

Interesting point Gary, and also with the sidecars the oil is moving sideways in corners so will be uncovering the probe in rights. Only way to get an accurate reading would be with a temp gauge sender in the oil line coming out of the engine going to the cooler.

Re: overheating advise please

forgot the link...duhh http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14559 Interesting link, and it gives some 'street' temp #'s for comparison. Two issues with the dipstick oil temp gauge is that it would have to be modified to allow for safety wire. Also given its position the only time you would b...

Re: overheating advise please

"These engines run hot." But does anyone know how hot, like by measuring oil temp or cylinder head temp.I'd be interested to see if the aerodynamic penalty of an unfaired bike is offset by the greater airflow around the engine.Except for Mosport,I don't think that improved aerodynamics mak...
