Re: Sidecar Swinger (as the Ausie's call them) Required

So as of tonight the chair has been filled. Having finally had a chance to meet in person, 'Hopper' will be refilling the same space he once occupied. :D :D :D

Re: Sidecar track days

Hi Gord, what is the protocol for handling vintage rigs with the SRA school, or is there one? We have several potential new racers who might like to get a jump on the VRRA school to sort any problems before the first race. Paul. +1, would like to know the answer to that Gord, as I'm one of the newb...

Sidecar Swinger (as the Ausie's call them) Required

As things are finally starting to fall into place, thought I should post this now. I have an open chair spot on my P2 rig, that needs filling before the 1st turn at the Shannonville school. As the subject says, I'm looking for a passenger / monkey / swinger. As I'm a rookie, my preference woul...

Re: this year in sidecars.

I'll chime in. Just heard from Karen, and it's now official; I'm VRRA member #1507. :D Next up is to mail my school form off to Dave. The plan is to P/U the rig I'm purchasing from Rob Verrier (x-Brama P2) this weekend. Did manage to get what's left of the spare motor retrived from Toivo today. I'll...

Re: An introduction, and some newguy questions

Thanks for the welcome Jan. It was the pictures of the #457 rig (your's :) ), taken at Mosport that helped sealed it for me, and start the hunt. They've also established the presentation / prep level I'll be shooting for. That said, my personal standard is pretty high to begin with. The picture is m...

Re: An introduction, and some newguy questions

After a lot of digging, I finally made contact with Rob Verrier. After checking out the x-Brian Brama rig I have given Rob a deposit, and will be picking it up early in the new year. After sitting all this time it's going to take considerable spit & polish to approach the level of the Lake's rig...

Re: An introduction, and some newguy questions

Thanks for the email Malcolm, and yes I am looking forward to the sidecar school in the spring.

Given possible rigs are not exactly falling out of the trees, I will definitely give you a call this weekend Micheal, thanks.

Re: An introduction, and some newguy questions

Thanks again for the warm welcome, to the world of VRRA sidecars. I completely understand the feeling behind 'don't buy the Lake's. Substituting one driver for another doesn't grow the sport. While with VARAC, I developed, and stickhandled the adoption of their G70 class. Now, many years later, they...

Thanks for the welcome. I hear you regarding the Lake's, it's why I also asked about all those others.

An introduction, and some newguy questions

I thought this would be the best place to post this, as it is sidecar racing that I am looking to join. 1st a quick intoduction. In answer to 'how long ?' - My first ride was at about 12 on an x-army Harley in a farm yard. Don't no if it was excitment or fear, but I knew I wanted more that day. I ro...
