Re: Sidecar Alley

Most vintage guys also race solo so we tend to be everywhere. I will likely pit in the same area as RACE round 1 - far east lane.

Re: New team - Wanted to say hi.

Welcome. It will be nice to see another woman on the sidecar grid. The sidecar field should be good this year and we usually put on a good show. You will enjoy the VRRA, lots of racing to entertain you when not on the track.

Medical Data Carriers

Medical Data Carrier has been selected as part of our medical response plan. The VRRA will require the use of Medical Data Carriers effective with the 2015 season. This requirement came about partially as a result of several incidents last year in which the rider was not carrying their medical card....

Re: Hypothetical schedule question

Well, half my team wants to be at CTMP. She just needs a rig and a driver - I guess I know where my vote will be!! I do agree with Gary that the short tracks are more likely to have a better show. I just hope that we do not end up with a small number of rigs at the Festival, Mosport can be hard on t...

Passenger departure from rig

At the Sidecar racers AGM, the issue of flagging for a missing passenger was discussed. The key concern was immediate communication with the driver. We generally use the debris flag but this takes time to pick up and point at the driver. The suggestion was to point the furled yellow flag at the rig,...

Ralf's GS550

P3 Light GS550. Engine was built by the late Steve Crover and Ralf rode the bike for several years, winning the P3 Light championship in 2003 and 2004. The bike was raced in 2005 and that may have been its last time on the track. Bike was stored in the house since last used but moved to the garage l...

Re: Sidecar Reunion September 27/28

My reference to 3 new teams were of the 5 teams that broke the P2 lap record - poor wording on my part. Your list of the new teams is correct for vintage sidecars as a whole - an impressive number of new teams for one year. Thanks for raising the P1 lap times and congratulations.

Re: Sidecar Reunion September 27/28

It was a great weekend and nice to be with the modern sidecars. Thanks to all who came out and put on a fine display of vintage racing. It was unfortunate that the sidecar gremlins did not allow us to replicate Saturday's racing on Sunday. I think we should do this again next year. We will have to s...

Re: Questions for a sidecar project...

The misunderstanding appears to be based on the assumption that the replica was proposed for P2. P2 does not allow monocoque. However as has been noted, P3 allows replica monocoques. When the P3 sidecar rules were first proposed in 2002, the wording for replica monocoques was included. Although hub ...

Re: Questions for a sidecar project...

Rule changes are done outside of the AGM, the procedure is in the Constituion. The AGM was used to allow a one year trial of the GP class. The rules were refined after the trial year and submitted to a vote by ballot. The trial run of modern GP bikes was done at the AGM since all modern classes were...
