Re: penalties and handicaps - Laps or Kms?

The only issue i have with laps is that its a fixed value. If the race is shortened due to red flags or weather, then it becomes a much larger factor.

Re: Continuation of Pre 72 for endurance series

Sorry Percy, it isn't really about the lack of participation, it's about the duplication of existing classes that are already properly handicapped. It really doesn't make sense to have this. I agree it would be great to get older bikes out here, but i dont think its the class structure that's the is...

penalties and handicaps - Laps or Kms?

Please let me know your thoughts on this. I am fine leaving as is, but there is some validity to the argument that laps means different things at different tracks, not just the actual length of the track, but how fast you cover it. Mosport is our fastest track, Shannonville our slowest with Calabogi...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

just as an addition to the discussion. It has been mentioned several times that we alter the penalties and handicaps to a mileage number rather than number of laps. Any thoughts on this? I think there is some merit to this idea as the track lengths do vary, so a longer track equals a larger penalty ...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

So as proposed: End race same as we always have. Everyone takes the checker. But we add the “bonus miles” based on finishing position. This keeps a separation between teams. Because there is one on the track. BTW the max point spread is 3. Every track we will be on for 2018 are longer than that. Sha...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

Sorry Gary, for all intent and purpose points and miles are the same thing. It’s how we are “scoring” so while they represent miles or km, they are in fact points. Don’t get hung up on the terminology. As for your assumption that the final scenario means the team went the furthest. That thought is f...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

The points system would not eliminate the possibility of a tie. Even in this same scenario. Having an even number of rounds will mean it’s always possible. Team A 2 wins 2 second places Team B 2 wins 2 second places Provided they finish on the same number of laps at each round means a tie. In that i...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

If I was racing endurance in 2018 I would not be a fan of the last proposal. If you race till the clock hits the designated time and go back a lap you create additional risk and complexity. By way of example, two bikes racing hard cross the line in a heated battle and the clock clicks over between ...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

From the WERA rulebook: 35. A Team’s last counted lap will be the last lap the Team is able to complete during the time frame of the endurance event. (i.e. last possible time to record in a 4-hour would be 3:59:59, in a 6-hour - 5:59:59 in a 24-hour- 23:59:59). When the checkered flag is displayed ...

Re: Endurance points system discussion

Any further input on this? My plan is to finalize the series scoring and handicaps before the end of January. As it stands, I plan to move P4F3 to lightweight and adjust the handicaps to make the playing field more level. Essentially all current lightweights will get 2 more laps and P4F3 will have 0...

Re: New promo videos for the bike shows! HELP!

One last cry for help. Or this project is sunk.
I need video from all classes. I have seen a ton of cameras so the footage is there. So give it up. Before i am forced to give up this year's video.
