Re: Lightweight endurance classes - Season

All modern lightweights would run together...
We would maintain the current vintage classes and handicaps.

Lightweight endurance classes - Season

I have been informed that CSBK lightweight and RACE lightweight class rules are essentially the same for 2019. This means that we could combine CSBK and RACE classes under one class. This does leave Lightweight Sportsman as having separate rules. But does anyone see an issue with this? It is basical...

Re: Next Year

There are subtle differences between the classes (as far as I am aware). So if you have a Lightweight that’s not legal for one series, you could run the other. If you call it RACE lightweight Sportsman than all the CSBK bikes and Lightweight production bikes could run and be in one class. I just th...

Re: 2019 Handicap Formula for Discussion

Not sure i will actually do much with this if there isn't much interest. the reality is- we have very few handicapped bikes running.

Mostly in lightweight, one in middleweight and the odd appearance in HW.

Re: 2019 Handicap Formula for Discussion

OK i worked up a spreadsheet. Here is what i did and why. I used lap records for every single class in sprint for each of the tracks. Took that lap time and figured out what the maximum potential number of laps was based on these times and not including a pit stop. This gives us what the maximum pot...

Re: 2019 Handicap Formula for Discussion

yes- something like that. it simplifies the process and doesn't award in laps- but miles as a percentage.
So- we now just have to do every class and every track configuration.

Re: 2019 Handicap Formula for Discussion

working on teh math from my end as well. We may want to do it as a percentage differential. That way it is auto adjusting for race length. We add it in km at the end. For example let's just say P4F1 is 10% faster than P3H. (sprint based times- as we should view it as potential speed of a fast guy in...

Re: 2019 Handicap Formula for Discussion

OK. I am going to implement the pro rating of handicaps based on green track time. for example P4F1 vs P3 Heavy is currently 5 laps. 120 minutes divided by 5 is 24 minutes. So if the If the race was shortened by race is shortened by 24 minutes the handicap would drop to 4 laps and so on. Comparing P...
