LF P1 or P2 race ready bike

I'm looking to get back into racing this season.

Have no time to put into a bike, so looking for a race ready bike.
Can be P1, P2 or middleweight production.

My budget is $2500.

Re: Seasonal costs

It depends on the bike as powerful (large) bikes also go through more tires while on a 30HP bike, a set of tires should last 2 or 3 seasons. A 110HP P4 heavy will go through tires every two weekends or so. But you major expanse is registration (about $300 per weekend) and getting to the track and ba...

Re: Wanted SV650

Looks like no matter what, getting a well sorted out fuel injected SV650 will set you back somewhere between $2,000 and $2,500.

Re: Wanted SV650

Mine is for sell,

2003 (fuel injected),
Very well sorted bike with a bone stock motor.

Comes with Pirellis 70% life left and almost new rains on rims.

Body work was fixed many times but it is all there.

Going to race the 450 next summer so don't need the SV anymore

Re: 1982 Factory Kawasaki KZ 1000 S1 EBAY

You don't have to go into the motor in order to build a clone, no one will be buying it to go vintage racing, it only have to look like the real thing.

Re: 1982 Factory Kawasaki KZ 1000 S1 EBAY

Hey Steve,
Why wouldn't you start building those clones, you have the skill and the parts.
Even an official clone will probably go for over $10K.

Re: '72 Moto Guzzi Eldorado project...

It was appraised for way more the I thought it was worth! So did you make at least $3 for every hour spent on restoration? I know it's labor of love and guys like us don't work on vintage bike to make money, but it's a good filling to find that you were able to create some value through hard work. ...

Re: CB450-Motor-rebuild

For now only fixing what's broken but it is amazing how much performance stuff for this motors is available. From the information I gathered so far, by spending $3K it is possible to bring this motors to over 60HP at the rear and still have half decent reliability and you don't have to go to the ext...

CB450-Motor-rebuild

On paper this motor was suppose to to make big power and came with the following goodies: Valve spring conversion Dual spark plug heads Aggressive Megacycle 120x7 cams Somewhat higher than stock compression (well, there is a high dome on the pistons but also large valve pockets). But at Mosport 2012...

Re: New RD400 1979

The RD400 is a nice bike, probably the best of the middle weight air cooled 2 strokes (it is also the latest one so this shouldn't be a surprise) According to one of my old magazines it came ahead of the KH400 and the GT380 but not by that much. The bike isn't that rare and there is nothing that spe...
