If I may suggest one note of caution regarding your planned engine upgrades; 2011 rules for P2 Heavy states the following... "Cylinders may be overbored to give a maximum engine displacement of 5% over each engine limit."
As preference goes, I'm actually a bigger fan of the Pro track. But as Dom notes the marshaling situation will have a lot to do with track selection, and when it comes right down to it any track configuration is a win
